Joey grew up in Cisco, Texas, and after graduating high school there, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Physical Education from Abilene Christian University with secondary teaching certifications in both. He spent the last 30 years coaching and teaching at Fairfield high school and was in charge of the FCA huddle for 20 of those years. Joey retired from Fairfield High School in May of 2019. 

Joey joined the FCA Staff October 2019.
