Johnny Tusa is a 1966 graduate of Reicher Catholic H.S. He was a four year letterman in football and a 3 year letterman in basketball and baseball. After graduation, he signed with Kilgore J.C. and participated as a redshirt freshman on a National Championship team. After Kilgore, he played two years of football at Louisiana College and two years at Tarleton State. 

His thirty - eight year coaching run began in 1971. Coach Tusa served as A.D./Head Coach at his high school alma mater for two years beginning in 1977. From 1979 to 1985 , he served as head coach and athletic coordinator at Jefferson-Moore H.S. From 1986 to 2009 he served as A.C./H.C. at the newly consolidated Waco H.S.

Coach Tusa became involved in the FCA ministry in 1979. He sponsored and led huddles for the nest twenty -eight years. 

Coach and his wife Dollyn have two daughters and one grandson. Jennifer Hemphill of Columbia, MO., Casey Summey of Bosqueville, TX., and grandson Wade Summey also of Bosqueville

Johnny joined the FCA Staff April 2020.
